Meara & Mike’s Wedding – June 17th 2017

The Camarillo Ranch House has been an historical fixture in the city and a picture perfect place to host a wedding. Meara and Mike, along with their wedding planner and friend Amaris Clare, began planning their perfect day about a year ago. With the help of the fantastic Interlaced Events team, consisting of Summer Swan Photography, A Secret Garden Florists, and myself, we came together to help Meara and Mike create their dream wedding. You know you have an amazing team working a wedding when the first thing Amaris said to me when I arrived was “Everything is going awesome!” The lawn in front of the Victorian Style home was set just right for the reception. In the barn, the finishing touches were being put on the ceremony site. The bar was being set-up by the gazebo, and the lawn games such as Corn Hole, Horseshoes, and others were already set-up ready for the afternoon challengers.

At a quarter past 4:00, Mike and the Officiant (a friend of the bride and groom) entered from the side door of the barn and the ceremony began. The guests were treated to some candid insights into the lives of the smiling couple standing before them. Shortly after the kiss, the guests were led over to the side of the house for cocktails, refreshments, and the aforementioned games. This relaxed, summer day atmosphere put everyone at ease as Meara and Mike took some final photographs. It was finally time to start the reception with an upbeat and fun grand entrance.

Once they were on the dance floor, Meara and Mike started what everyone thought was a typical first dance. “All Of Me” by John Legend was their choice, as this couple LOVED R&B music. However, after about 90 seconds, the song scratched to a stop, and the upbeat theme song from Ice Age Continental Drift “We Are” started. This was Meara and Mike’s daughters’ Alex and Fiona’s cue to join them on the floor, and the entire bridal party followed suit. Soon, the dance floor was packed, and we hadn’t even rung the dinner bell.

DJ’s California Catering put out an amazing spread; not only for dinner, but the most delectable dessert table I have seen in quite a while was set-up right after the cake was cut. The guests had a great time dancing and watching all the kids show off their dance moves as well. This “family friendly” vibe continued all through the night, and when it was finally time for the last dance, the adults were enjoying themselves as much as the kids both on and off the dance floor. It’s always great working with wedding pros but to work with a team of friends and colleagues is the best! Interlaced Events pulled off another spectacular team wedding, and Meara and Mike were all smiles all night.
