Once the dancing started, it was only interrupted twice. The first time was to combine a couple of traditions. During the Married Couples Dance, Becky presented her bouquet to the couple that has been married the longest. It turns out 48 years was the magic number! (Beating out one other couple by only 2 years.) The second interruption was to really break from tradition and open up the Ice Cream Bar! Not only did Knollwood Country Club live up to their reputation of serving up a delicious buffet dinner, but they outdid themselves with this creative and unique dessert concept. I think Becky and Robin were more excited about this than dinner as they told me about this idea at our first meeting!
As the party wound down, we pulled everyone inside and outside onto the floor for the final “Circle of Love,” Becky and Robin loved my idea to end the night with “Grow Old With Me” by Adam Sandler. (Again…playing up their sense of humor.) Robin mentioned to me at the end how much he enjoyed being able to hang out and talk with his friends who he hasn’t seen in months or years, while still hearing a great selection of music coming from the dance floor. Becky never stayed in one place for too long as she was on the dance floor with her friends, outside talking with family, and back on the dance floor for her favorite songs. It was a great night for a great couple!
