Next up was the wedding. I can see exactly why folks decide to get married at wineries. The backdrop behind Bobbi and Jeremy was breathtaking. At a few minutes after 4pm, Bobbi was escorted down the aisle by her dad. During the ceremony, a very fitting “wine blending” ceremony was performed with their moms helping them blend the different wines representing the different sides of their families. After the ceremony, the guests were treated to appetizers, games, music, and of course, lots of wine in the adjoining patio.
The reception kicked off inside the wedding pavilion room, and from the first song in their Grand Entrance (AC/DC’s T.N.T), this crowd knew they were in for a great party. Bobbi and Jeremy danced to the wedding version of Russell Dickerson’s “Yours” as all of their guests looked on with love in their hearts. Before the meal was served, In the middle of the most amazing dinner served by Wiens head chef, the guests were treated to a little entertainment brought to them by Bobbi, Jeremy, and their shoes. Yes, the Shoelywed game was specifically requested by the newlyweds and gave everyone side cramps from laughing so hard.
Once it was time to get everyone up and dancing, the real party crowd revealed itself. The dance floor was absolutely packed to the gills. (In fact, the guests who couldn’t find room just danced wherever they could!) It was a shame we had to stop at all, but a slow song break led us straight into the Cake Cutting (and inevitable cake smashing.) It took some time to get Bobbi fixed back up, but once she reentered the room, I had not only all of the single girls on the dance floor but all of the married ones on the opposite side cheering them on.
The after party got a little crazy with even Grandma in her wheelchair getting down as hard as she could! Bobbi’s Great Aunt even came out and did a headstand as a “family tradition.” I think this after party would have gone on for hours, but all great things must eventually come to and end. However, when it was time to wrap up the evening, the amount of guests in the final circle of love was staggering! The outpouring of love I saw that night warmed my heart, and the genuine love I received from Bobbi, Jeremy, and their guests for helping them achieve such a memorable evening made me realize the best word that could sum up this entire experience was simply…serendipity.
