The evening began with the guests arriving through the 13th floor historical penthouse and up to the rooftop for the ceremony. Dana descended the spiral staircase to meet her dad who walked her down the aisle. The ceremony was a beautiful combination of tears and laughter. As the nuptials concluded, the guests went back into the penthouse for cocktails, photo booth, and appetizers, while the amazing staff from Truly Yours Catering turned the rooftop into a swanky reception. Marcia worked tirelessly assembling the giant centerpieces and adding the finishing touches to the tables. The guests poured back out and were treated to a fun grand entrance, a sentimental speech from Dana and Anthony, and a fun and fitting first dance song. (“Old And Crazy” by Bruno Mars and Esperanza Spalding.)
During dinner, the guests were treated to one of Dana and Anthony favorite things. Gambler’s Mark…a local Rock-a-Billy Trio took the stage and played a combination of Roc, Ska, and 80s Flashback tunes in their own distinctive style. I helped get everyone up onto the dance floor after dinner and threw it back to the band for their final set. Everyone then followed Dana and Anthony back into the penthouse for their cake cutting.
We finished off the night with more dancing, a cute circle of love, and even more dancing. It was a cold and windy December night, but the more the guests danced, the less they seemed to care, and everyone had an amazing time celebrating Dana and Anthony’s wedding bliss. I am so happy to have been able to step in at the last minute to help. Being a part of this swinging night made my holiday season a whole lot cooler!
