The evening was not without a few traditions and surprises. Matt’s cousin, Garrett, came up and did a traditional Japanese “Banzai Toast,” ensuring 10,000 years of good luck and fortune to the bride, the groom, and everyone in the room. (I think my wife and I now have a new drinking tradition amongst our friends now!) Diana also had a trick up her sleeve that took a bit more planning. During the Married Couples Dance, a surprise music video with scenes from Matt’s favorite movie of all time, The Karate Kid Part II, played to the song “Glory Of Love” by Peter Cetera. The movie is about honor, integrity, and fighting for the one you love…all traits Diana loves about Matt. The celebration flowed perfectly between sentimental formalities and epic dance sets, finishing off with a magical sparkler exit down the front steps.
It had been almost ten years since I have last worked at Seven-Degrees, and I must say it was a pleasure performing there again. Lauren, the coordinator, the staff, and even the AV guy Austin go to great lengths to ensure the perfect evening for their clients. The team of professionals Diana and Matt assembled for their wedding day all worked seamlessly to ensure absolute perfection. I was honored to be a part of this great team, and I look forward to working with any of them again in the near future.
