As Jessica and Fernando made their way into the ballroom, they each gave a part of their thank you speech: Fernando in Spanish, and Jessica in English. They danced to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri, which was such a sweet moment, and a few people caught the fact that Jessica walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of the same song. (I LOVE little touches like that!) Now it was time for dinner, and the absolutely amazing and friendly staff at Sterling Hills got 150+ guests through the buffet quickly, giving Jessica and Fernando plenty of time to visit and take photos with their tables. (Of course, Claudia and Maria zipped them through this process as well.)
However, what this crowd REALLY wanted to do was dance! Jessica and Fernando told me early on that they just wanted to sit down and not worry about a thing while everyone had fun. This was no problem, because once I got everyone up on the floor, that’s where they stayed all night. We had to kick them off to do a couple of formalities, but the last two hours were a rockin’ dance party spanning genres and languages including Banda, Cumbia, Merengue as well as Old School Funk, Freestyle, Old School Hip-Hop, and Top-40. There wasn’t a moment all night when that dance floor wasn’t flooded with people. These are the events I love being a DJ, and couples like Jessica and Fernando are why I love doing weddings!
