Karla & Douglas’ Wedding – Saturday, September 21st 2019

A true Earth Wind & Fire Day wedding only comes along once every few years. (Once every seven years for it to happen on a Saturday.) Karla and Douglas wanted to create a Bohemian celebration that encompassed their personal style of romance and elegance with a pinch of tradition from Karla’s big Mexican family (as she likes to phrase it). The end result was spectacular, and their chosen venue, Best Backyard Weddings in Acton, perfectly executed all of their wishes, decor ideas, and style concepts. Watching them turn this rustic outdoor space into Karla and Douglas’ specific vision was a sight to behold…almost as impressive as how quickly and efficiently they turned the ceremony space into the reception area.

So the stage was set, and Karla and Douglas said their “I Do’s” overlooking the hills and valleys behind the house. As the guests exited the backyard, Mariachi Mexico greeted the guests as they kicked off the Cocktail Hour, complete with a cool bar, interactive games, and great music. Regina Marie stole the bridal party and family away, and despite the late start, managed to get all the photos done in exactly one hour while never losing a bit of her amazing style and creativity. (Just watching her set-up the Golden Hour photos at sunset was the icing on this wedding cake!)

The guests returned to this completely transformed space and sure enough, “September” by Earth Wind & Fire bumped through the speakers to bring Karla and Douglas into their reception. After a truly romantic first dance of “God Gave Me You” by Blake Shelton, the guests were in for their next treat…Dinner! The Tipsy Moon laid out a spread of the most delicious meat, beans, rice, tortillas, and all kinds of awesome food for the hungry guests. As the dinner wrapped up, Karla’s cousins Sophia and Estevan each did a special Salsa Dance presentation for the guests. Karla danced with her dad Salvador and minutes later, Boom…everyone stormed the dance floor.

It was a great night of dancing and partying. Combining Spanish Cumbias and Merengues with lots of 90s Pop and Hip Hop was only the beginning. The September evening was absolutely perfect weather, so the guest who weren’t dancing enjoyed hanging out at their tables or back out in the bar area. As the evening’s festivities wrapped up, all the remaining guests circled Karla and Douglas for one last slow dance. Wrapping their arms around each other to complete this circle of love, Karla and Douglas were all smiles knowing they succeeded in creating the perfect day for their friends and families.
